Jock itch is a fungal infection of the groin area. It usually looks like a red flaky rash. As with most fungi, it likes a warm damp environment (such as inside a jock strap) and typically takes hold when the conditions allow. As for aquiring it through sex, I would say that yes, it could be transferred in that manner, but not because one is having sex, but from direct contact with the fungus. There are some creams such as miconazole, and clotrimazole that do wonders for clearing up small infections.

i think its what men get when they wear protective gear around their genitals during sports and it gets sweaty and itches them after. so no a woman cant get it

i too have jock itch which i find most perplexing cause I'm not jock but they do make creams for dat

haha a jock itch is somthing a guy gets when he wears a jock strap (cup) to play sports and like football and stuff,im not sure if a gurl can get it during sex but i suggest if your dating a guy with jock itch he gets it taken care of with a special cream espesally made for jock itch..i acually think its called jock itch lol..hope that helps

Jock itch is a fungus, like athletes foot. I guess you could get it by rubbing against each other.

ok lol jock itch is a woman can't get jock itch and it is not an STD. Jock itch is a fungal infection of the skin in the groin area, occurring most commonly in males, esp. in warm climates, characterized by itchy and often scaly lesions. That is the dictionary definition. Someone can get jock itch by wearing jock straps because those get sweaty and bacteria can build up.
