Question: i have guaged my ears out to a size 4 and evey few days or so my ears start to smell like old cheese. why is this and what can i do to prevent this?

Its caused by natural bacteria, dead skin cells. I encounter the same issue. Just remove your jewelry and wash it and your holes with an antimicrobial soap every few days. You should be able to find it at a piercing/ tattoo shop.
clean them. does not sound like you are keeping them clean as this is sweat build up.
You need to clean it 2 or 3 times a day.

use alchohol. or take it out.
It could be infection, but most likely it is just dirty, you need to clean your ears with alcohol or hydrogen peroxide at least twice a day, take the earring out and soak it in alcohol at least once a day. This needs to be done, until the ear heals up and then you need to do it at least once a day. Hope this helps
