A Urologist normally performs surgery on the kidney. A nephrologist is a doctor who studied internal medicine then went on to specialize in treating diseases of the kidney. They normally do not perform the actual surgical procedures. You may have been treated by a nephrologist but it's unlikely he/she will do surgery.
