Yeast infection and bladder infection? Ouch, poor kid. She has the yeast infection because of the antibiotics for the bladder infection. Give her live active cultures of yogurt to eat. The acidophilus in the yogurt not only helps digestive issues, but will eat the yeast.

Don't give her corn or corn products right now, because yeast thrive on corn.

If she'll drink cranberry juice, let her have some of that. She needs to drink a lot of fluids so that she can pee a lot and flush out the infection as well as the yeast. She can bathe in warm water with baking soda, but white vinegar (no other vinegar) is fine.

Say what? A vinegar bath! How in h ell is that gonna help a bladder infection? Never heard of such a thing.

You better find a new doc.

I'm confused. A bladder infection is generally treated with antibiotics. Lots of fluids, especially cranberry juice. Are you sure we are talking about a bladder infection? If so, you should find another doctor.

I agree with the previous person-vinegar bath will not cure a bladder infection! She needs an antibiotic. Do not let her take bubble baths, make sure she understands to wipe from front to back and that will help prevent future infections. Start giving her as much cranberry juice and water as she can hold to help flush out the infection. With her being so young I would get her to a good pediatrician tomorrow, you don't want the infection getting into her kidneys. Besides, it's usually painful to have a bladder infection. I hope she gets the treatment she nedds and feels better fast!

Maybe the vinegar bath is a homeopathic remedy for the yeast infection but it isn't going to help a bladder infection. A bladder infection needs antibiotics and serious attention, especially in a young child. You may want to chat with a new doctor.

My Father is a doctor, I had to call him about this... he has never heard of this... Granted I woke him up (it's late here) he was half asleep telling me no, that was crazy..lol
If I were you I would give your child lots of cranberry juice and water until you can get him/her some antibiotics called in. I just went through this last month with my 7 year old. A few hours after he took his antibiotics (think it was macrobid?) he was feeling the relief.. But definitely give your child some water or cranberry juice asap. Look up the benefits of both on google you will see they are supposed to prevent/clear up a bladder infection. Hope your baby finds something to help soon..

Why not go to the store and buy some white vinegar?
You can get a huge gallon size jug of it for $4 or $5...
Also, have you tried making your daughter drink cranberry juice? If you can't get her to do that, they also sell cranberry pills, which you could mash up and mix into her food, and can be used to help with the bladder infection...
Good luck!!

i do not think malt vinegar would hurt anything. It is comparable to cider vinegar. I saw where you said she was on an antibiotic which is good thing. The vinegar soak is probably for the yeast infection. To get her to eat things like cultured yogurt is also good to help with an yeast infection. A way to prevent recurring yeast infections in children that are females is to try to figure out the cause. A big culprit that causes them is to let them take bubble baths. For some reason that leaves them to get irritated. After taking antibiotics a child is the same as an adult and prone to get a yeast infection. Satin underwear can help promote a yeast infection or if she is still potty training to get stool up around vagina area will cause alot of irritation and leave her prone to infection. I would monitor her too to make sure she wipes good and doesn't wipe back to front and always front to back cause that can make her get an infection also. Make sure she drinks plenty of fluids and monitor her temperature. I would make sure I followed what the doctor told you to do for her.

from what i learned in college microbiology, the drug of choice is in the family quinolones and the drug of choice is ciprofloxin for urinary tract infections. I have never heard of using acetic acid for that except for cases of yeast infection to restore pH in the vaginal area.

Bacteria hate acid so that makes sense but if she was on antibiotics they could have killed off the beneficial bacteria in her vagina and allowed the yeast to overgrow giving her a yeast infection. Is there any white cheesy vaginal discharge? If so, yeast hate an alkaline environment so forgo the vinegar cause they will grow in in that. Try giving her a warm bath with a cup of baking soda dissoved in it . Do not let her drink it but when you take her out let her vaginal area air dry

If you give your daughter bubble baths often..stop them..believe it or not that is a BIG cause of yeast infections...have her drink cranberry juice it's get for bladder/kidney/pelvic infections.

first of all i hate to ask the obvious, but what is a 3 year old female child doing with a bladder infection and yeast infection? has someone been sexually abusing her?

cranberry juice will create the proper flora in the bladder lining (Harvard studies with women) but it will not clear up a bladder infection. to soothe the area sit her in a warm to cool baking soda bath in a plastic tub. take her to another doctor, either a urologist or a gynecologist to check for sexual abuse. and dont mess around with a bladder infection as it can quickly spread to the kidneys.
