Feeling pressure in my heart area?!

Question: It comes occasionally. .maybe once a month. My heart starts feeling a little heavy, and sometimes it even hurts. I admit I'm not a very active person. I dance and I'm starting gymnastics soon though. Anyone have an idea of what it might be?

This used to happen to me quite often, one reason because I wasn't active enough, and two because I didn't have a good diet planned out.

Start a small exercise routine, about 20-30 minutes a day, even if its just stretches and make a healthy diet plan, and yes you're allowed a treat once a week or once every 2 weeks, you can decide that, but on your treat day don't binge, choose one thing. For example you like Starbucks, go there...

Try that routine for a month or two, and if it still happens I'd suggest going to see a doctor.

Yes I totally agree with the girl below me. Could you have diabetes? or just a high blood sugar/pressure which is I think the same thing as diabetes.

Sings/symptoms of diabetes:
- Really jumpy moods (not acting like yourself a lot)
- Thirsty A LOT, craving water every 2 minutes.
- loss of apatite
- a big weight loss in a short period of time (say 2 weeks)
- a big weight gain in a short period of time (say 2 weeks)
- high blood pressure

google for more of these signs and symptoms..

If you appear to have 3 or 4 symptoms I'd talk to someone about going to see a doctor

I have no clue how old you are. but these days it doesn't really matter anyway. I have had the same feeling before. I suggest you check your blood pressure. It's good you are getting active. Keep up the good work. Hope this helps.

No but I wouldn't start any hard physical activities without a checkup first. Let your doctor know what you're about to start.

you should always listen to your body, research what angina pains are, and what should be done about them

You should go see a Doctor.

This Patient Guide is written for the loved ones of heart patients who are dealing with the short-term stress that comes with a test, procedure or recent diagnosis of heart disease. It explains why support is so important to a loved one with heart disease. It also offers practical strategies on how to support a loved one while also taking care of yourself

maybe... heart burn?? im not sure>>>

You need to be checked out medically before you start that gymnastics. If by chance your heart is already stressed, adding more stress could not be a good thing. Go get checked out first, and tell the doctor what has been going on about that pain.

Sometimes you can have micro valve prolapse which is normal and there is medication to treat it... Good luck to you!
