Influenza?!

Question: My daughter and I were in contact with dead deer mice in WA State over the last 3 weeks. Our cats kill the mice and leave them for dead in the yard and our 8 week old puppies play with them until I catch them then I throw them in the garbage can outside. A couple times the puppies would bring them in through the cat door and my 3 yr old daughter took them away until she learned what they were....
My daughter got sick Thursday late at night so we spent all night waiting to see the doctor and now we have to wait for blood tests until this morning. Last night I got sick too... We have the symptoms of both viruses but the blood test is only to determine if this is a viral or bacterial infection. The tests for Hantavirus are not covered under our insurance and take 6 days to get results.
My question is how do you tell the difference in symptoms between influenza (Flu) and Sin Nombre Virus (Hantavirus)?

Signs and symptoms
Hantavirus pulmonary syndrome advances through two distinct stages, with the first signs and symptoms appearing between one and five weeks after exposure to a hantavirus.

The early stage
Signs and symptoms such as fever, fatigue and chills are early indicators of a hantavirus infection. Within several days, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pains and headaches may develop. In its early stages, hantavirus infection is difficult to distinguish from influenza, pneumonia or other viral conditions.

Signs and symptoms of early-stage infection include:

Fatigue
Fever
Chills
Muscle aches, especially in large muscle groups, such as your thighs, hips and back
Bubbling or rattling sounds in your lungs (rales)
Abnormally fast breathing (tachypnea)
Abnormally fast heartbeat (tachycardia)
Headaches
Dizziness
Nausea
Vomiting
Diarrhea
Abdominal pain
The cardiopulmonary stage
A cough often indicates that the hantavirus infection has progressed into the cardiopulmonary stage, in which the capillaries of your lungs begin to weaken and leak fluid. Shortness of breath and respiratory troubles can ensue.

Symptoms or signs of the cardiopulmonary stage include:

A cough that produces secretions
Reduction of oxygen (hypoxia or hypoxemia) and a buildup of carbon dioxide (hypercarbia) and acid (acidemia) in your blood
Shortness of breath
Respiratory insufficiency (shock) or failure
Buildup of fluid in your lungs (pulmonary edema)
Acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), in which your lungs' ability to transfer oxygen to your blood is severely impaired
Multiorgan failure
Low blood pressure (hypotension)
Slower or faster than normal heartbeat (arrhythmia)

Signs and symptoms
Initially, the flu may seem like a common cold with a runny nose, sneezing and sore throat. But colds usually develop slowly, whereas the flu tends to come on suddenly. And although a cold can be a nuisance, you usually feel much worse with the flu.

Common signs and symptoms of the flu include:

Fever over 101 F in adults, and often as high as 103 to 105 F in children
Chills and sweats
Headache
Dry cough
Muscular aches and pains, especially in your back, arms and legs
Fatigue and weakness
Nasal congestion
Loss of appetite
Diarrhea and vomiting in children

i don't really know if u can tell the difference or not but what i think u should do is that u should keep hope and never go near or touch a dead deer mouse and never let ur puppies near them either. keep hope that its nothing severe.
