I pop. My dad always warned me not to, so I had huge whiteheads for 9th grade.... He said it left holes.

I think the contrary is true. When you leave them sit they stretch the pores. I could be wrong.

My rule of thumb is any whitehead gets it.

With others, if it is raised, where I can get my fingers under it so to speak, I pop it.

Also if you lightly press from all directions, you'll find one place where you feel more resistance from the zit... sort of against the grain. When you press, it's much easier to get it to pop.

You really want to get the pus out, but moreso the 'core' or the hardened oil. That is what you want to push out. If the zit isnt above the surface, your chances of getting the 'core' out is much slimmer.

I think when the core stays, thats when it gets infected.

Also, facial wash is really strong and burns the crap out of my skin, but Ill put a little spot on a zit and wash and it really dries up a lot of oil...

edit. also, get Milk Thistle at Walmart. Take 2 a day for a week or two and drink a lot of water. It's mild, but it's a liver detoxifier. There is no question my skin is 100% when I take it. I wish I would have known about it when I was a teenager. It's cheap, like $5 for 100 pills. And all natural. You skin may even have a nice glow when you use it.

Try and wait until it dies away.
When you pop a zit it breaks the skin and could cause scarring

Never................unless u want craters on your face then do so...... dirty hands .....off your face.

it's best not to pop one- it'll leave a scar of variable size, and besides that, that deformed pore, cause by you squeezing, will make it more prone to recurrent zits.

your best bet is to use benzol-peroxide as a night cream, after washing the area with a mild soap. this will promote drying of the area, and less zits.

Most zits are caused by clogged pores, in which oils and fats get trapped and harden; afterwards, bacteria gets in the pores and inflamed and infects them.

NEVER!
use alcohol, peroxide and a firming mask on the thing.
Don't pop it!
