Question: Im doing a column for a newspaper and i need something to write about which can be 700+ words... about smoking, but not anything to general like people shouldnt smoke and smoking gives you lung cancer
and does SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) have to do with smoking? do you think i can write about that?

Studies show that there are over 3000 chemicals per cigarette. Some are cadmium, and arsenic. What about focusing on some of the chemicals. Like why the chemicals are even added,which ones are added for addiction purposes. Is there a need for any them in processing. Where did the idea to put the chemicals in the tobacco come from. Which of the chemical is the likeliest one to make it so hard for people to quit smoking. I would find that information very interesting.
What about an international piece? For instance, smoking in Spain...like the laws and how they are trying to enforce them. They're having difficulty enforcing them because prior to the laws smoking was common in public places and was seen as just a "cool" thing--even among adolescents. Now they have restrictions and some people are upset because they are hooked and want to stop but 'can't'. The Spaniards wished they had prior notification of the disadvantages of smoking.
