Why does my cat have a nasal drip?!

Question: My cat is 4 years old. The only symtom she has is a cold, wet nose that will drip sometimes. Mostly at night. Her nose always seems to be wet and cold but it doesn't drip continously just at night mostly. No other symtoms. No sneezing, no coughing, eats well, cleans her self. Just that little drippy nose. And the dripping is clear. Could it be allergies and is there any otc medicine I can give her? I know my daughter will give her cat childrens otc medicine at a lower dosage.
Would that hurt her???

My cat does the exact same thing! But only when he is calm and laying on one of my kids or me.
I panicked and called a close friend that owns a shelter to describe what he was doing, she informed me that cats sometimes drool when they are content, kind of a way of expressing their love for you.
Personally I try to have tissues close by when he is inside because he is very affectionate but I hate getting wet!!!

This question has been posted in the wrong section. I suggest for better results you try the animal section.
I would not give your animal any medicine without your doctors consent. Most likely he wont give you that. He will prescribe her something to make a little extra money.
Lets say it is allergies, what are you planing on giving her? I take singular, they have the over the counter type, i take prescription. I think it is almost like placebo. You may try that if you chose to experiment.
