Your question is a great one.

1. Many generic drugs are made by more than one manufacturer. They all ahve different colors/sizes/shapes, but they contain the same active ingredient.

2. Contrary to what the druggist and your insurance company tells you, generics are NOT the same as the brand name products in terms of consistency and other parameters. However, it almost always makes no difference. So, only in rare instances does it matter whether or not you keep with the brand drug or even the same generic drug.

3. It is important to take a drug from the same manufacturer only in cases where there is a need to get an exact level of drug into the blood. This is especially true if you have to have blood tests to adjust your dose. This is not the case with blood pressure meds.

4. Bottom line for you - it doesn't matter - take what they give you.

Again, thanks for asking a great question.

It is important to take the same

It doesn't matter if it's from another company; just read the inserts to make sure you have gotten the correct medication. Pharmacies can and do make mistakes, and give customers wrong meds.

They are the same.

Same drug, different manufacturer. Nothing to worry about.

You were probably given another generic from a different drug company. It should be okay, as the FDA does regulate generics. If you find that the medication is not working as you think it should, go back to the pharmacy and tell them.

try it if it isnt working for you talk to tour doctor right away

I take 2 20mg Lisinopril daily (yellow)
I take 2 25mg Hydrochlorot daily (pink)

I get mine from WalMart Pharmacy much cheaper here in Idaho too.

If ya have any questions call your WalMart Pharmacy after ya get them. (Think the color is just who happens to be who WalMart Pharmacy gets em from.) WalMart has a cool pharmacy plan if you don't have health insurance coverage for medicine. The company brand of the medicine doesn't matter. I go in for a Dr. appointment every three months, plus I take my blood pressure every 3 or 4 days and keep the Doctor posted when I go in what its been reading. (My son in-law has high blood pressure and he takes Lisinopril too - his are yellow too.) Hope your blood pressure stays under control. Have a good one! :-)

Get a dictionary. Learn to spell simple words. Geesh.

sounds like the lisinopril/hctz is from a class of drugs called ACE inhibitors (lisinopril) and the hctz is from a class of diuretics (makes you pee-and lowers bloop pressure). basically most of the drugs in their particular classes are all very similar. the pharmacist probably gave the generic form. they are the same thing except the fillers are different. most people react the same way to generics as they do brand names.

Your better off asking the Pharmacist. Don't ask any one on here, they may not be professionally trained to give such Medical Advice. ASK YOUR DOCTOR, A NURSE OR PHARMACIST. for your safety!
