Can genital herpes be spread by sitting on the commode after an infected person?!

Question: In theory, I guess it would be possible. Let's say a person with an active herpes infection set on a moist toilet seat. The virus would "shed" into the moisture. Then another person used the same seat quickly without wiping it down. And their genitals came into contact with the seat.

All of this is very unlikely, but possible. I review some literature and none mentioned this as a possibility. Only genital to genital or oral to genital.

So, scientifically, the answer is NO!

No, herpes is spread via skin to skin contact with the infected area. It is not transmitted via inanimate objects.
