What causes your nose to become runny and how do you prevent it?!

Question: When I have a cold my nose gets all stuffy and runny and to me it's very irritating. I've heard that there are some people who don't even experience it because they are able to stop it before it even starts. Then I've heard that you can "rinse it" out with salt water and that kills all the germs that causes this to happen. Does anyone know why that is and is there a possible way to prevent it from becoming runny?

well this may seem nasty but it works there is signs that u have before u get a cold when its still forming like mucus in ur throat and kind of a stuffy nose just constantly hawk spit i know its not lady like for u to do but it works lol

blowing

It's your sinuses draining fluid/mucus to try to help prevent the infection/cold. The worst thing to do is suck it up. Continuouly blow your nose and go to the store and get some sinus medication and cold medication from the drug store.

Allergies cause it to be runny when your feeling normal... I think a tablet recomended by your doctor for day to day use will do just fine any alergy tablet like alegra or piriton...

is it sunny in your country? if it is try to detach your nose and let it dry under the sun, or you can use break fluid to make it stop. JOKE ONLY! YOU SEE YOU NEED VITAMIN C.

there are many reasons people get runny noses. one big one would be allergies. If this is the case with you then it may help to get allergy pills you take on a regular basis. If the over the counter medications do not seem to help you can always go to your doctor and see if they can prescribe something that will.

good luck.

Try a Sinus rinse. This is used for Sinus & Allergy relief. Allergies and Sinus disease cause excessive mucus production in the nasal passages. Nasal irrigation will wash away the excess mucus and allergens such as pollen, dust particles, pollutants and bacteria, reducing the inflammination of the mucuss membrane.
