Can candy cause acne breakouts?!

Question: Ok, well i got this huge (acne) breakout on my face (ew) after i ate candy with citric acid. so do you think that causes breakouts? my dad does and he has a Ph.D and knows this stuff.... he thinks that maybe i'm allergic to it or something, he doesn't think that citric acid can cause breakouts for everyone. Yes, candy affects your acne, such as chocolate, peanut butter, nuts... etc. Also if you are going through your adolescence, unfortunately, it will affect you but you can help it by not eating candy as much. There are good over the counter creams that you can use, ask your pharmacist. I stopped having pimple problems when I had my first child. Good luck

  • Yes it can. There are 2 ways it can happen from candy:

    1. You eat candy a lot.

    2. You are allergic to the candy you ate.

    NO. hormones are the cause.
