Could this be the cause of Tinea Vesicolor?!

Question: I have been using Tanning lotion for a few months now. And I have been noticing some spots on my arms that dont tan, and stay white. I looked up some symptoms, and I think I may have Tinea Vesicolor. Do you think that the cause of this happenining could be the daily use of tanning lotion? Please let me know what I can do to clear these symptoms up.

Tinea V. is caused by bacteria which is present on everybody's skin but gets active on some people only.
The way to treat Tinea V: smear Selsun Blue shampoo over affected areas, let it dry and sleep on it. Wash away in the morning shower. 2-3 sessions will do it.

I had that and I had thought at first that it was ringworm. But when I had it, it itched like crazy!!! I mean It really itched. I doubt you have it, you just may have drier areas of skin something. If the spots dont itch...its nothing to worry about.

Try stopping the tanning lotion and seeing what happens.

Tinea vesicolor is a fungal infection - it wouldn't be caused by tanning lotion.

You might just have some areas on your arms with less pigment or that areas that are very dry -- very dry skin wouldn't absorb the lotion very well.

The source below discusses tinea versicolor.
