MRSA is Methicillin-Resistant Staph - there are only a couple of antibiotics that work on it. My son has excema and got a flesh-eating MRSA infection because the bacteria will take advantage of a break in the skin. My son's infection was cleared up by Bactrim.
You must see a doctor and have the wound cultured, in order to tell if it's MRSA for sure. If they slept at your house you must wash the bed linens, towels, and anything they used in hot water (bleach won't hurt, either.)
The problem with waiting on an infection like that, and not getting treatment promptly, is that the bacteria eats it's way into the skin. If it gets into your bloodstream it could possibly be deadly.
Otherwise all you can do is wash your hands a lot.

webmd is where you want to look at MRSA it is a staph infection usually in the form of a boil or absess. My daughter had it and as long as she kept it clean and covered the rest of us didn't have to worry. PLus make sure you wash your hand frequently as normal.

Do you mean MRSA ? , Mrsa is a staph infection which has become resistant to some antibiotics, it can however still be treated by vancomycin. you probably have the same bacteria living on your skin right now, upto 1 in 3 people have MRSA living on their skin or up their noses etc, but if you are healthy it poses no problems as it quite happily lives on humans without doing damage (its called a commensal bacteria)

it only becomes an issue if you have a poor immune system or are recovering from surgery etc, and have an open wound
and it is known as an opportunistic bacteria when this situation arises...

it is a staph infection and should be treated. Sometime antibiotics wont help after time and it could get into your blood system. Dont wait for that.
