I know that cancers which are detected earlier have a higher chance of curability, but also certain cancers are more curable than others, like Breast Cancer & Cervical Cancer.

Seven out of ten children are cured of cancer. Testicular cancer, Hodgkin's disease, and many cases of leukaemia can all be cured in adults with chemotherapy, most skin cancers are cured with surgery, and many cases of thyroid cancer and cancer of the larynx are cured with radiotherapy.

Many other types of cancer are also cured if they are found early enough. There is still a long way to go, especially with some of the commonest types of cancer such as lung, breast, bowel and prostate cancer, and others here have mentioned some of the cancers that are less likely to be cured.

You specifically mention breast cancer as being more 'curable'. It's true that if it is found and treated early the prognosis can be excellent, though there are no guarantees.

I feel that all the pink fluffiness surrounding breast cancer has given the false impression that it is 'curable'. There is no 'all-clear' for anyone who has had breast cancer - it can recur at any time, even years later. It is still a deadly disease with no cure - in the UK an average of 33 women die of it every day, and in the US I believe the figure is 112 each day.

I'm not claiming it's the worst cancer to have, just setting a few things straight as it's the cancer I know most about.

is this part of your new year resolution- to look for a beatable cancer?

Pancreatic Cancer, Ovarian Cancer, Brain Cancer and the like...

Pancreatic is one of the worse, if not the worse. By the time you have the symptoms, your probably too far gone. Even if they can operate the chances are 40% to die on the table and 3% to make it a year, less than 1% to make it 5 years. If they can't operate, less than 6 weeks.

if you get cancer of the marrow or the blood thats all ways fatal and with out keimo therapy you would have 4 months or so.

check out this research group..they are trying to find some cures......http://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/
