Bumps near Vagina, after having MRSA.?!

Question: Within the past two years I have given birth to two little girls. After my first I got a staph infection on my thigh, had it treated and it went away.

After my second I was nursing, got mastitis which lead to two large absesses on one of my breats, when they cut and drained them they found I had MRSA and put me on antibiotics for it.

A few days ago I noticed what looked like a boil outside of my vagina. I simply put a little antibiotic and pain reliever on it and it went away. The next day I woke up to find two of the same size bumps that are twice as painful. I'm now making an appointment to see my doctor, but to put me at ease, does anyone have any idea what this could be? After the staph infection and having MRSA I'm nervous wreck!

You may not have gotten rid of the MRSA infection after the last occurrence. You could still have it. Have you had your nose, feces, blood and urine tested to see if the infection is gone. I have MRSA and have had it for three years. I only have it in my nose and feces. I have not had any infection since my last occurrence in 2005. I had an infection under my arm in 2004 that took alot of bandages and medicine to take it away. I got a blister on my foot in the hospital when I had my hip surgery. I had that for a very long time. It turned ugly within a few days. I received all of the medication over and over. Every time I was in the hospital, I had to have a private room because of my infection. My foot was finally healed in 2005 after my next surgery later that year. Most people don't realise they may still have the infection. You have to be very careful you don't get cut. I have not had any problems maybe because it is not in my urine anymore. I've never had any bumps like your speaking of, but I would get checked and please have them check for the MRSA.

Depending on size and location, it may very well be more of the same. Note that skin infections have traditionally been associated with Staph. aureus, and that community-acquired MRSA in minor infections like this is really not in the same ballpark as the stuff in the news. Sensationalism and fear-mongering sell papers, but don't exactly do the public a service.
You might want to mention the previous infections when you visit your doctor. He may want to prescribe intranasal mupirocin or try another trick or two.
