The Hemorrhagic Fever viruses are amongst the deadliest diseases known to man. Ebola virus is the best know, and it is thought that it is carried by African monkeys. Lassa Fever is another that is carried by rodents.

There is a parasite named Naeglaria that is also deadly. It is contracted from warm water lakes and ponds, and destroys brain tissue. It is quite rare though.
