Could AIDS possibly have been created by man as a biological weapon?!

Question: No. At the time we simply didn't know enough about biological weapons (especially viruses) to do something like that. It's also been found in blood samples going back to the fifties. In fact biological weapons are mostly a sci fi/comic book thing, the research is so dangerous that it's hard to even imagine doing it. Russia stopped their biological weapons programs because too many key researchers were dying. Source: A long conversation with a word class microbiologist. (Living in a college town has its advantages.)

HOWEVER, even though it was not CREATED as a biological weapon...it's being USED as a biological weapon. The west stood by and did nothing in the 80s, and little afterwards, knowing damn well that tens of millions of Africans would be infected and die as a result. The west wants Africa's resources, they have no need of Africa's population.

That's just my cynical opinion though...based on decades of studying history and how governments "think."

AIDS was created by man.

i dont think so, im pretty sure it started in african monkeys or something. never say never though.

unlikely no evidence and is slowacting harder to spread then say smallpox

Sure. If you wanted to kill off all people too stupid to use a condom, HIV is what you would use.

It was a conspiracy theory that some considered possible. I personally don't see how it could be effective. Usually biological weapons would be to target a specific group. Aids unfortunately doesn't discriminate.

The most accepted theory of the origin of AIDS in humans is from a simian immunodeficiency virus (SIV) after hunters either ate contaminated meat (chimps) or from their cuts being infected after killing chimps.

I've never heard that put forth as a theory - but yes, it is entirely possible.

Considering governments routinely do stupid things like testing LSD on its soldiers (check out the Pentagon website - it's recorded history) and infected its black soldiers with Syphilis (again - check the site) -- all in the name of "research."

Governments don't give a crap about its people.

not likely. perhaps, but it is more likely that aids came from the great rift valley in africa. this is where all the fun viruses develop. the virus was shown to be carried by green monkeys decades before the world wide epidemic. then it jumped to the local human population. the history is fairly well documented.

yes, but there are far better ones out there. even a cold would be more effective then AIDS because it takes a few years before any symptoms appear.
