Swollen lymph nodes are a sign that your body is fighting an infection, not stress.

Lymph nodes small (1-2cm) and bean-shaped nodes. they are very important to your body keeping you healthy. you body has hundreds (close to 1000) of lymph node in clusters all throughout your body (ex: head & neck, armpits, groin, etc.) . they are similar to glands, but do not secrete hormones or other substances. they are your bodies way of filtering and destroying bacterial and viral infections. they swell when they are fighting infections and can sometimes be felt when they are enlarged.

** If your lymph nodes have been swollen for longer than a week or 2, or if you do not feel like you are sick, you should definately call your doctor asap as a precaution against cancer of the lymph nodes (called lymphoma - a somewhat uncommon, but serious condition that needs to be addresses right away to prevent spreading of the disease . THIS IS NOT TO FRIGHTEN YOU, JUST TO INFORM YOU OF WORSE CASE SCENERIO).

Stress has nothing to do with lymph nodes. Infection does. So, see a doctor.

Lymph nodes are all over your body, and infection cann cause them to swell, or sinus problems too.

In my experience, I would say yes. I've never had a swollen lymph node in my life and then out of nowhere I got one. At the time I was pretty stressed about my job. It eventually went away. My sister gets them too either right before she's about to get sick (cold, flu, etc) OR if she's majorly stressed out. If you're seriously concerned about it though, see your doctor. Only s/he can tell you for sure.

I had swollen glands in my neck for two weeks and got a antibotic that cured it.

Your lymph nodes are located in the right and left sides of your upperneck directly under the jaw, underneath the chin, and under your arms (in the pits), behind the ears, in the groin, and near your collarbone. The lymph nodes can be as small as a pin and clustered in groups, or some are as big as an olive. Commonly the lymph nodes that are located in the neck, chin, and groin, are the ones that swell. I don't believe they become swollen when stressed, but different viruses can cause the lymph nodes to swell up. Some viruses can last for several weeks, and others are over in a few days. It depends on the strand of the virus. Also, they may swell with strep throat, or other infections such as an ear infection, or oral infection. There are other more serious problems that can cause swelling of the lymph nodes in different areas of the body. Hope you feel better soon. If this persists, see your doctor. You may need an antibiotic.

I believe it means that you are fighting off sickness. If it is really bothering you, you should see a doctor.

i had a ct scan in june and found that all of my lymph nodes are swoolen and they did a biospy and it came back negetive for lymphoma and they told me to come back every 6months and have it checked to see if they have grown more or what and that was in august.
