Going in for Chemo a 2nd time? What are odds of survival?!

Question: My younger brother finished his Chemo for Leukemia 8 months ago and was diagnosed as in Remission. Now, looks like he is sick again. If he goes through Chemo again, what are his odds of survival?

Just tell me the truth, I want to be prepared.

It really all depends on the state of health of your brother. Whether he is strong enough mentally, physically. If his immune system is strong perhaps he will have a good out-come. If he is young, that would be on his side. I've known people that have been thru chemo many times and have survived....but its different for everyone.

You need to be asking his doctors, all the best to your brother

I agree, only your docs know. What type is it? I am aml and am in remission from my 2nd diagnosis. Depending on type and from what I know, a bone marrow transplant will probably be considered this time.
Feel free to contact me and I can talk to you on a personal level if you want.
