No graphic pictures.
Some of the causes are unsafe sex w/ an infected person, using a dirty needle used by an infected person for illicit drugs, being exposed to the blood of an infected person and you have cuts on your skin especially in healthcare. Effects are losing tons of weight due to not being able to eat, sores on your body. But aids medication have improved tons over the years. It isn't a death sentence anymr people live with it is they can afford the drugs. You can learn more frm the aids foundation or government agencies.

Death..
There arent any graphic pictures of that!!!
There are alot of different types of Viruses that you can get but if gone untreated then it can develope into full blown AIDS which in time can lead to that big D word!!
And since there arent any symptoms people dont think they have it and they say oh ya i have had unprotected sex and i still dont have the virus because i dont have this symptom or that symptom, but what some people fail to realize is sometimes and most of the time there arent any!!!
Just make sure you are keeping yourself safe!! :]]
Hope i was a help!

I have been in company of AIDS victims and it aint a pretty sight, skeletal, ill, eyes popping out frail!! Sores on skin, tired, exhausted and this has been young people in their 20's 30's !! When someone developds AIDS its because they have picked up an opputunist infection like pneumonia or something due to their immune system being destroyed! I have had HIV for 5 years and just found out so my chances of getting an oppurtunist infection are huge!! I dont look ill though although i have lost quite a bit of weight! It really depends what kind of diseases you get when you are said to have AIDS

AIDS stands for Acquired Immonudificiency Sydrome.
AIDS is the disease progression of being HIV positive (ie positive for the Human Immunodificiency Virus)
When you are HIV positive, the virus wears down your bodies defences. Treatment and therapies which keep the amount of virus in your body under control are eventually overwhelmed and your body's defences fail to the point where infections now have the opportunity to attack your defensless body. Once you reach this point you are then termed to have AIDS, rather than being HIV positive.

The types of infection are varied, but there are some classic AIDS defining illnesses such as certain types of pneumonia.
