Answers: A simple way to remember this:
ARTERIES take blood AWAY from the heart.
VEINS VEER blood toward the heart.
Just remember the 2 A's and you'll always know which is which.

arteries= away from heart
veins= into heart

I always remember that both artery and away start with the same letter.

veins in, arteries out

Veins go into the right side of the heart, to send de-oxygenated blood to the lungs. Arteries come out of the left side of the heart to pump oxygenated blood around the body.

They both move blood to and from the heart. The difference between them is Arteries are like highways, they are bigger and thicker using your heart beating to move the blood. Viens are smaller and softer, and actually use the movement of your muscles to circulate the blood, thats why on long flights they ask you to stand up and walk around so blood doesn't pool up in your body.

Arteries transport blood to the body, and Veins transport blood to the heart. Blood goes through the Left and Right Atrium's of the heart, into the pulmonary arteries, back into the right and left ventricles, and into the body. The process is continuously repeated.

check webmd, they have your answers.

Arteries take the blood away.
Veins take the blood to the heart.
