Plantar Warts?!

Question: My 7 year old daugther has a plantar wart for over 2 months, we try over the counter medications but still there. I hear about duct tape, does it work? what is on it? Does it have to be gray?

Her warts may be a little difficult to get rid of which is why I wouldn't bother with the OTC treatments, but rather have her see a doctor who can prescribe something that would aggressively take care of it.

take her to a doctor. they'll be able to remove it. those things can get extremely painful, best to have it taken care of.

I use to have them when I was a waiter. Honestly, the only way i got rid of them was my going to the foot doctor and having him burn or freeze them off. It sounds painful, but it is a one time process that works (especially the burn option). They numb up the area as well, so it is really not too painful.

I used to work for a Podiatrist and you should bring your daughter in if the over the counter treatment is not working. The doctors have a few different methods that you can pick from. I do recommend you bringing her in soon because if it is not treated it will spread. The longer you wait the longer she will have to see the doctor for treatment.

The only thing I know that will work, it to have them cut out. But, unfortunately they will grow back.

The otc pads to not work at all for me and I do not think that duct tape will get deep enough to affect it or remove it. It could also casue a serious infection. If she goes bare footed a lot, she might want to consider at least wearing socks around the house. That helped mine.

Ohhhh, I hate those things. I had one one time, and that was enough for me. The doctor used something that resembled a long matchstick on it, and rubbed it in. I dont remember what it was called, but it hurt really bad when he did it, and for the rest of the day. But, it cured it! I would definitely see a doctor. I hope your daughter is doing better soon! Its no fun having one of those, I know...

Go to a dermatologist and have them freeze it
