My parents are big smokers, how does it affect my health?!

Question: I am 14 years old. My parents have smoked all my life-probably 2 packs a day. They smoke in the house and it always smells like smoke to everyone else. Obviously I am not exposed to every cigaratte they smoke but I know it seriously affects me. My question is-Is there anything I can do to reverse it or limit its effects? And yes I have tried a thousand times to get them to stop and they won't listen. Thanks!

Here's how it affects your health. If a doctor were to listen to YOUR lungs, he or she would be able to tell that you lived in a house with smokers. Second hand smoke is dangerous. You might consider getting an air cleaner for your bedroom and closing the door when you are studying. You can limit the effects of second hand smoke by staying away from it as much as possible.

ok first off! to tell u i have been taking a class to learn how to be drug-free (D.A.R.E) did you know 3,000 people die of second hand smoke?!! ill explain second hand smoke is when a person smoking and another person breathing it and the next day will die thats the meaning of second hand smoke (this is not based on a true story i dont wanna scare you it's an example)
And second, it must be addicting to smoke so dont try to go to far off of asking them to not smoke here are some steps
1: tell them why are are they smoking
2:if you care about me, is it ok if you lay a few ciggerettes a day instead of too packs
3: if they reject tell them (but dont scare them) that this stuff is very addictive and can hurt your body also and reserch

Hoped i help!!:)
~ace!
P.s do u know they are over 200 chemiclas in just 1 cigerrette??!!

I am only saying something because of what Hanna wrote..DO not ever tell your parents "if you care about me then......." That is wrong and likely to get you in a whole lot of trouble..Plus it is not right to speak like that to your parents..I am a smoker and I do respect my children..My hubby and I only smoke in our room or outside..Not in front of the kids and in the whole house..We have fans and smoke eating candles..I am not saying that it is ok to smoke or not..But we are adults and can decide for ourselves what we want to do.
