if you had a stroke you would be dead , or brain dead right now
you prolly just had some reaction to nicotine , I remember I got
really lightheaded in the mornings from smokes when i use to smoke.

those types of symptoms are generally related to blockage in the veins causing a stroke or heart attack... Get in with your doctor as soon as possible and tell him what happened. If it is caught early enough... you can stop it before it does permanent damage.

could be a tia or mini stroke, also could be an early warning sign of something else. Get to you doctor ASAP

If I were you I'd have called 911 to have them come assess you in what's called the "golden hour" because they can administer certain drugs to retard or reverse the affects of any damage a stroke can cause to a person. It still isn't too late to go to the emer. room and have them assess you. If you do find you did suffer some damage they can put you on some meds to help you gain your abilities back more rapidly. DO NOT WAIT! This is nothing to say "oh it was nothing!" If you had numbness of the face and tingling and couldn't speak for 5 minutes, odds are you suffered a mini or full blown stroke. Go to the ER. Good luck!

Sounds like you had a TIA which is a mini stroke...you need to get into to a doctor soon! TIA's are usually warning signs for what is to come...Please take care of urself and go see a doctor. Good luck!

It sounds exactly like a tia or transient ischemic attack. What does that mean? Ischemic attack means oxygen was cut off to some brain tissue, in your case undoubtedly from blockage of a blood vessel in the brain. Transient means the blockage was small enough to pass on its own without doing permanent damage. Good news for you, however tia's are a huge and rather definite precursor to full blown strokes. You were lucky this time that it was transient. Use it as warning to GET TO YOUR DOCTOR and relay what happened. You don't say when this happened. If it was minutes ago, still go to ER. If it was several hours ago, call your doc today and say what happened and say you need to get in to see him/her as soon as possible--like in the next few days, so you can begin to check things like blood pressure, cholesterol......Good that you're done with smoking. Depending on how long you smoked, it'll still take some time for the effects of smoking to be reversed. Smoking causes blood vessel constriction, so that when and if a clot is present, it does a lot more damage, and quicker. The symptoms you described do not sound just nicotine related. It sounds exactly like a tia. Also somebody has mentioned that there is a very limited amount of time to get to the emergency room, be evaluated, diagnosed, and then treated to "bust" a clot if and when you are having those symptoms. DO NOT DELAY WHEN HAVING ANY SYMPTOMS OF NUMBNESS. That small delay can mean the difference between life and death, or the difference between life in your home as a normal person and life as a paralyzed nursing home patient, unable to speak or eat. Your getting to the hospital FAST will determine whether you live or die, or eat, speak, or walk or move again, if you live. GOT IT? DON'T DELAY!

Tell all that to the doctor at the hospital. Get off the computer and call 911.
