Plucking nose hair?!

It can happen. This can also happen if you pick spots on your nose and forehead. The areas are in close proximity to the nasal and frontal sinuses which are in close contact with the brain.
Dont stress too much. It's pretty unlikely and you wont suddenly drop dead! You'll get an abcess there first which you will need to see a doctor about and get it treated. If left untreated yes, the pus can spread to the brain causing encephalitis and potential death.
there are little things at wal-mart or wherever that are like a little razr that are made for it! They don't hurt! (or so I'm told! lol)
I suppose it is possible epically since the nose is so close to the brain but honestly hon I wouldn't worry about it. Think about it, have you even lost a tooth and it bled, or brush your gums so hard that they bled. Men knick themselves all the time while shaving their faces and teenagers pop pimples that bleed. Thank goodness for our immune systems, I'm sure your dad's friend was the exception to the rule. Don't stress over it, you'll be fine.
