Answers: yup i felt it in pontefract what a day im having wife had a baby tonight then i get home and i get an earthquake lol

Just a tiny one.

Yes - my house shook. It was an earthquake for sure. I live in Harrogate which is just up the motorway!

i live in stoke on trent and i felt it and i can tell you it was'nt nice,! :(

Yes i felt it from Leeds and i also heard of people in london feeling it. i saw it on the bbc news 24 saying it was an earthquake

felt across the UK 4.7 on ricta scale and was believed to be in hull

Yes.
Im in Doncaster, I was watching the TV (Shaun of the Dead) and felt the tremor at about 12.55 am or so.
It lasted about 10 or so seconds, started as if a lorry was passing the house, but it got louder and then the house shook for about 5 seconds. My wife was asleep at the time, but she woke. I checked outside, the street was all quiet, no alarms or power outages, but it was eerie.
Reports suggest the epicentre was in North Lincs / Humberside at about 4.7 on the Richter scale, so a small one, but nevertheless still powerful.

yes i felt it - it really scared me actually, not something we are used to really. i live in sheffield, my mum felt it in hull and my sister in wakefield but it seems to have been very wide spread

Yes but nt in sheffield but lincoln i waz watcchin suan of the dead.

yeah, i felt them in doncaster!!

Yes i did, it frightened the life out of me. I am in Harrogate, North Yorkshire. I thought i was imagining it at first. Apparently it was 4.8 on the richter scale. Freaky. Especially after all these winds we`ve been having

Living in Hillsborough, Sheffield, and yep, definitely. The whole house shook lol

North as you can get in Leeds: Returned home at exactly 1pm to find my mum all worried. She thought the wind had shaken the house. I assured her the wind couldn't do that only to switch on SKY news and her of an earthquake. I duly apologised to her.

US news reported a 4.7 quake in parts of England earlier. Not serious, no major damage or injuries have been reported.

That brings back memories...since I grew up in Northern California and have sat through a thousand quakes. They can be a little unnerving, can't they/
