Breathing difficulty + slightly soar throat - symptoms of what?!

Question: Age - 28, Gender - Male, Smoked previously for about 2 years. Don't smoke anymore.

I am having breathlessness since about a month and have a slightly soar throat. My doctor checked my lungs (with a stethoscope) and could not find anything wrong. He advised me to take two herbal pills and drink a lot of water.

But it didn't help. I still have the problem. It aggrevates when I'm in smoke filled cafes or in company of smokers.

Any clue as to what it could be?

From what you describe, it sure sounds like reactive airway disease triggered by irritation from smoke or other irritants. You need to see your doctor and mention this. Some oddball problems need to be ruled out (heart problems, genetic lung problems...etc) but you do need to have pulmonary function tests done to rule out asthma. Good luck

asthma or trachiatis- they can't be picked up easily.
those are my experience with what you have.

Smoke allergy or asthma...Get another doctor to check you out.

Allergy to smoke Have you seen a cardiovascular specilist? I could be something with your heart. Did your doctor do any blood work. Your red blood cells carry the oxygen to your cells.

Personally I would seek a second opion

At a guess I'd say it's a mild infection (probably streptococchus which I'm sure I've spelt wrong). Eat plenty of high protein foods with an iron supplement( Scrambled eggs, salmon, liver- these should be kinder to your raw throat too). Oh, and plenty of clear fluids ( water's good lol)
As for the breathlessness that could be an indication of either cardiac or respiratory strain. Don't panic but if it becomes accute then consult your GP, HMO or whoever it is you see IMMEDIATELY. It's unlikely to be an allergic reaction... there are specific symptoms. Hope you feel better soon m8.. tc
