I cant breathe through my nose. been like this for 6 years!!! im soo angry grrrr!

Question: Do see an allergist so you'll know exactly what to avoid and what times of year will be worse. He'll probably do a patch test, mine was on my back, they make tiny scratches and swab on a variety of different things to see what you react badly to. It's not as bad as it sounds, not painful and over in an hour or so.

I've had nasal septum surgery and they cauterized blood vessels in my nose which worked for a year or so. Now that it's back I don't want surgery again so here's what I use. Mentholatum under each nostril when it's bad and before bed, they sell it in a little tube like Blistex you can carry in your pocket. A whiff of that should clear you up for hours.

I also use saline nasal spray, you can use it all you want since it's just salt water. Tip your head back a bit so it streams instead of spraying, wait a few seconds and then blow your nose. Do not use other nasal sprays too much, they shrink the tissue and can become habit-forming.

Finally, at home get a good air purifier. I bought one that never needs a new filter, you just clean it every 6 months or so and that's it. Removes smoke, dust, pollen, anything that can be an allergen, as well as microbes. I got mine at Costco, the Hunter Permalife, one of the top-rated ones at Consumer Reports.

Go to an allergist. Get tested to see 100% what are your triggers. Get some therapy to help. If OTC allergy meds do not help you then you need a prescription. You may qualify and would benefit from allergy shots. My hubby has been on them for almost 2 years and has seen dramatic improvement! He rarely ever even took a Benadryl last allergy season!

do you have a nose???

6 years and you havent been to a doctor?

I just started taking Zyrtec D and now I'm able to breathe through my nose for the first time in years. It contains some kind of long acting sudafed. It's really helped me a lot.
