Cold Sore info please!?!
Question: okay so i have this sexy cold sore on my lip i know hott right? no. see i hate it. Im afraid the kid i like is gonna be all like ewww whats wrong with u and stop giving me hugs than again i do like to over think things! lolz
anywho the question i wanted to ask, So when i got it i didnt realize it was there it came out of no where it was already blistered but it decided to itch so i scratched it and realize what it was AFTER i broke the blister smart right!! ha!
and now its worse. It decided to swell, i used ice but it didnt work
so how long does the swelling usualy take to go down? ways to help it? im using an ointment on it called Zovirax. my sister used it when she got hers.

Cold Sores usually last about 8 to 10 days, though they're usually not hard to take care of.
Next time you're out at your local drug store, look for some medicine that's specifically designed for treating and shorting the duration of 'em...I think Blistex has something for it.
P.S. - Avoid contact with others if it is indeed a Cold Sore, though, that is by kissing, oral sex, pretty much anything that would involve it comming into contact directly with skin. Hope that helps!
cold sores are the first stage of herpes .. and no you do not neccessarly get them from oral sex it could be due to dryness and cold weather hence the name cold sore. uhmm use lubaderm or good ol vasaline
Just to let you know, you did indeed contract a virus called Herpes at some point and it lives in your body and produces cold sores every once in a while. There are no two ways about it....that is what cold sores are and about 1/4 of people have it, so it's nothing to get offensive about. There is no magical cure of getting rid of it faster other than prescription medicine, so if you get them often you might want to look into that. You did aggravate it by messing with it, so now you'll just have to wait it out, but you can try to minimize the redness with some make-up.
