We all have speech disfluencies, whether we were born to stutter or not. Listen carefully to people and you will notice that almost everyone stutters or stumbles over words every now and then. Being tired and under stress are two things that make those who stutter do it more. Try to simplify your life so there is less stress, and make sure you get plenty of rest. Maybe yours will go away.

you might just be stressed about something. that could cause you to act a little nervous around people. but try something soothing like listening to your favorite song or getting active by meditating or doing some yoga. these kinda of things relieve more stress than you would think. =]

i have the same problem. and it sucks.
i cant say lets or just right.

i have to really focus on it.
just focus on saying it, and u will.

stuttering is no big deal. if it only happens rarely, then nobody will notice. if it keeps happening and people do notice, try turning into a joke some how

just practice tongue twisters and try to get the sounds to roll off your tongue. when you practice them they will become easier to say. i find that when i get nervous i can stutter but it not that often... that could be your problem. just try to calm yourself down if that is the case and try to boost your confidence. think about the whole sentence before you say it. then you will be able to think about it two times and it will be twice as nice!

also, don't make it into a joke because that can end up hurting your self esteem. just know it happens and the people who make fun of you (if there are any so childish to do so) are not worth your time.

It could be because you are nervous or trying to talk too fast. I find that I stutter when I'm presenting an oral report or talking in front of people other than my friends. Just stay calm and talk slowly.

It's often triggered by nervousness and usually grown out of.
Talk to your school councelor, he/she can recommend theraputic exercises to help it go away faster.

Maybe if you speak slower and try to enunciate your words, the stuttering will stop. Perhaps you're nervous when you stutter? I think maybe you're rushing your thoughts/words. Here's a rule to try and see if it works: before you speak, think about what you're going to say and count to 3, and then speak slowly and clearly. It may sound slow to you, but it'll sound normal to other people. Good luck...it'll probably go away.

ugh go check the doctor befor its permanent!!! omg....just think....your gonna be out with you girlfriend and a group of boys come up you be like ......m..m..my n..n..name i.is **** - so you NEED to go, its important since your a girl or so i think you might not be able to get a husband unles your married already

Because you don't think the whole sentence before you say it. Just think before you speak. And make sure you don't talk low. Talk as if your giving a presentation and it will go away.

just start reading outload to yourself and do it every night its good pratice i suggest the bible

I have had a similar problem sometimes- it could be that you just need to slow your brain down to the speed of your mouth and focus on the next word or sentence. Helped for me.

Maybee. you've developed a studdering problem. i know someone who had a studdering problem. maybe you should practice saying words like say the same sentence over and over until you don't studder saying it. here is a sentence.

sentence: i like the computer, my favourite colour is green, somebody turn off the light.

now say that a lot until you stop studdeering then make a new sentence. like ;

i've been on a rollercoaster and it was fantastic.
or
today on the bus somebody threw a pencil at me.

it does matter what you say don't make it too long or too short.**********
BIG ISUE>
YOU HAVE TO MAKE SENTENCES WITH WORDS YOU NORMALLY DON'T USE. THEN AFTER DO ONEs WITH THAT YOU NORMALLY USE. SO CHNAGE AROUND VOCAB.

How old are you?

I'm 22 yrs old and I stutter. My stuttering is really bad.....is gotten to the point where I'm afraid to speak. I hate it because it has limited me in every aspect of my life. Maybe I've allowed it to, but if people knew how hard it is to live like this they would understand.

*I'm sure yours is just a nervous or stress motivated stuttering. If not, go to a speech therapist ASAP. Don't let it get worse.

ii do the same things ssometimes. seriously. it involuntary. you have no control. i think i aint thinking before i talk.
