How can I tell if I have a fever without a thermometer>?!
Question: I have the chills, no appitite, weak, tired, i get light headed really easily. I don't know if I have a fever though. I don't have a thermometer, and no one else is home, is there a way to know? Also can I go to school tomorrow?

dont go to school! you deffinitly have a fever. those are all the sighns. feel your stomach and if it feels just a bit warmer than the rest of you, you most likley have a fever. and when you breath, see if the air your exhailing is warmer than usual.

go to the shower, if the temperature you normally use seems colder, then you have a higher temperature than usual.

Have someone feel your forehead. As my mother always said, lets wait until tomorrow to see if you can go to school.

My eyes usually get hot. When I close my lids, the lids are hot. That's how I tell.
TELL SOMEONE ELSE TO TOUCH YOU AND THEN TO TOUCH ANOTHER PERSON..ITS HARD TO TELL IF YOUR FEVER IS NOT THAT HIGH THOUGH
well if you have all those things im guessing you have a fever... ask your parents to put their hand on your head... or you do it yourself.. or under your arm and if its hot, then ya.. but i bet you have one
i wouldnt go to school tomorrow.. rest.. its the best way to get rid of whatever you have... unless you feel totally better tomorrow, dont go

Usually mothers can tell if you have a fever, or fathers for that matter. You probably have a fever if you feel very hot, because you can feel them too a bit. I wouldn't count on missing school until you see how you feel tomorrow morning.
It is probably best to stay home and relax until you're better.
You cant normally feel a fever yourself but if you put your hand on your stomach and your hand feels very cold to it, you might have. Ask someone else though as soon as you can to be sure.
You sound like you do have a fever! Is your head hot? or you may be coming up with a cold! I think you should get some rest. Have soup and crackers.(stick with light food, drink lots of fluids) If you don't feel any better in the morning, stay home.
If your having chills...you are most probably getting a raise in your body temperature that is making your surroundings feel cold. Yes, i beleive you have a fever. Your skin will be HOT to the touch...your skin might be flushed (pink) on your face..and you probably have that glassy eyed look.

well duh, you check if your forehead. If it feels, hot, you have a fever. Also feel your neck, and between your thighs. If those parts are warm, and u kinda hav the chills, u have a fever.
1. Use the BACK of your hand...its more accurate. Use it to feel the back of your neck and the bottom of your feet. If those places are really warm, you most likely have a fever.
2. Do your eyes burn at all? That's another indication, so long as you haven't been out in a snow storm. =)

You can't tell. Some people feel hot with a temperature of 99 and that's not a fever. However, if you feel that bad, stay home.
