I'm hooked on smoking cigarrettes. Tips on how I can take a break or somethi!

Question: Drink lots and lots of grapefruit juice !!! Nicotene is attracted to vitamin C. The vitamin, in essence, pulls the nicotene from your body and because it is water soluable, the juice will help "flush" excess nicotene from your body. Orange juice will work too, but has a much higher sugar content. The American Cancer Society website has this great information and other methods to help you curb your cravings. Good Luck

ok... put on a white shirt, and get a mouth full of smoke, breath it out through the shirt and the yellow **** should convince u

cold turkey I think works best, although personally I went to a hypnotist referred to at a local hospital and quit VERY easily like that

The way I quit is to find someone to either be a smoker wanting to quit also or someone you can be accountable to and make a bet with them. However, you must make it a Strong bet, something that will hurt if you break it. Mine was, If I smoked one cig, I owed 200 to two guys betting with me, equalling a total of 400 dollars. I quit cold turkey that day and havent smoked since. That was a year ago.

well in health we watched these videos. They showed these people with holes int their throat because they had surgery- and they were smoking out of them. It was isqusting. I think ppl think they wont get addicted- but they will. The video also showed a guy who had half his face off and no eyes- it was disqusting. Do you want people to feel like they want to throw up when they see you? Then quit- cold tukey. Its the most effective way.

Keep in mind that, like any addiction, breaking nicotine addiction will not be easy. That said, I find that this method meets with great success:

1) Get on a schedule with smoking. Example: if you smoke 10 cigs a day (adjust to the number you smoke), smoke these 10 cigs at the same time, every day. Your body will get used to this schedule.

2) When your body adjusts to the schedule, above, remove one cigarette and adjust your schedule accordingly.

3) When your body adjusts to the reduced cigarette schedule, remove one more cigarette and adjust your schedule, again.

4) Keep removing a single cigarette when your body adjusts to each step until you are down to just a single cigarette a day.

5) When your body adjusts to that single cigarette, stop smoking that last cigarette.

Again, this will not be easy, but this is a lot less painful than just stopping, cold turkey. I wish you the best of luck! You can do it!

2 weeks isn't a long time. I was a smoker for over 30 yrs and quit cold turkey! You need to find something to occupy your time that includes some sort of activity on your part. hiking, bike riding, the non smoikng museum, library, etc.

You will find that after a week or two the craving diminishes. It may not totally disappear but at least it's tolerable. Quit now while you haven't seriously damaged yourself. A two week smoker should recover quickly. Think of all the bad things associated with smoking. You work harder to breathe, your breath always smells, ppl who don't smoke can smell it on your clothes (stale tobbacco odor), yellowing teeth, and so on.

You're young.. don't ruin your health. Keep healthy for you and your family.

You can do what ever you want. It's best NOT to smoke and I think that we all know the dangers. I used to smoke and did quit. But I still would like to have one and it's been a long time. Take care

How about quit altogether because not only will it kill you, it will kill others. Plus I think that people who smoke are very unattractive

ummmm i started chewing to quit smoking
but ur a girl so u probably dont want to do that
go to your doctor and ask him about chantix
i know a lot of people that did this and it works
could be expensive though

I went on Wellbutrin XL, and it treated my depression, helped me lose weight, and made my cravings for cigarettes disappear! I just didn't get the buzz anymore, and had no craving for them.
