Smoking and second hand smoke has been proven to have a direct link to cancer time and time again. Every cigarette you smoke takes time off your life span. Yes it's true there are those rare people who smoke until they're 80, and never have a single health issue. With breast cancer happening to 1 out of every 10 women in North America WHY WHY WHY would you voluntarily put yourself at risk????? If you don't love yourself enough to quit smoking then think about your family. I watched my father-in-law die of cancer and it was the most horrible thing I've ever seen. He had cancer of the bone and had to have his leg amputated even though he was dieing. He had to be awake for the process. so he had to listen to his leg being sawed off! While you can still quit, do it. There is nothing cool about cancer.

yes, you don't even have to smoke to get lung cancer, look at Christopher Reeves wife she never smoked and died from lung cancer, the world is a toxic place thanks to modern living

You can get cancer not even smoking at all,
we all have cancer in us, it's just that sometimes it comes out in us and sometimes it does'nt!

Yes, it's possible, and it's also possible to get artery disease, especially in a woman, and heart disease. You also get colds more often, it usually goes into your chest and becomes bronchitis more than when you don't smoke. Not to mention the fact that you stink.

no duh u can get cancer from 1 cigarrette

The American Cancer Society has lots and lots of good information about smoking, including the health effects and a guide to quitting. There's much help to be had at their website! Good luck!

You can get lung cancer whether you smoke or not. However, smoking increases this risk by a HUGE percentage, as well as your risk for heart disease. If you've only been smoking for 2 weeks, you can quit. I've been a smoker for 8 years, and it's quite a struggle to stop....quit NOW. It will only get harder if you keep smoking.

2 weeks.... you have an excellent chance to quit. If the bad breath, stale tobbacco smell on clothes, yellowing teeth, stress on the heart and lungs don't convince you... look here

I agree with everything everyone else has said- with one addition= MY advice would be to STOP SMOKING ____ NOW!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes you can get cancer from smoking 1/2 a pack a day. How old are you? Do you really enjoy smoking? It is your decision to smoke or not 2 smoke. Do what you want as long as you recognize the danger involved. Good luck and have one for me!

Yes, but not now. Maybe in years of smoking.
Try to break with it. Its not only cancer, also COPD is bad.

You can get a myriad of different cancers and degenerative/terminal medical conditions from smoking as little as one cigarette a month.

It's nasty, nasty, nasty stuff, no matter how little you expose yourself to.

Please try to quit.
