Should people go into quarantine if any physical contact was made with a gay per!

Question: if a gay person touches a book in the library and unknowingly you pick up that book...

if a gay person pats your shoulders good job..

if you share a pencil with a gay person....and the list goes on...

to prevent getting AIDS should normal people be given quarantine everytime they have made physical contact with gay people?

please, this is a serious question. you dont have to like me but please be mature.

Please do not ask such a ridiculous question and then demand those who answer display a level of maturity you have not shown yourself.

ur an idiot, and that is my answer. if that is a serious question, then u must be retarded. and if it is not, then ur still retarded.

It's really bigoted to assume that all gay people have AIDS. The statistic for straight people with AIDS is really high, too. Also, if you had ANY knowledge about AIDS whatsoever, you'd know that you can't catch it by touching something that they touched. This question is kind of infuriating. I didn't know such ignorance about the disease still existed.

Not only gay people have aids or std's. Everyone and anyone can get it if they have unprotected sex with someone who is infected.

Maybe all homophobes should be quarantined....

Why is a Gay person patting your shoulder from behind????!! Saying good Job???!!! LOL!! I have seen some of your comments on other people's questions so I know this is not serious question! Really grow up and quit taking it from behind!!

over 90% of all people livign with HIV got it from heterosexual sex.

you obviously know nothing about how HIV is and isn't transmitted. Unless you have unprotected sex with someone or share needles there is practically no chance of you contracting HIV

you are asking for maturity in the answers given to your question.....maybe you should show some maturity and learn more about HIV --- and gay people for that matter.

is this a joke? If not, your NUTS, but if your for real......you need Psychotherapy ASAP!!!!!!!

Unless you F*U*C*K*E*D someone HIV positive with out protection, than sure...you may have contracted it.........or if you shot up with the same needle as an infected person, you may contract it........AIDS is like cancer....more or less, you can't "catch"
it.

this is so not a serious question and if it is you should definitely go into quarantine to keep from asking any other stupid questions such as this. it's rude and ignorant, not funny, and you my dear need to grow up.

Answer: no. You are incredibly ignorant about AIDS, HIV and gay people (I'm not gay BTW). How old are you anyway?

AIDS can not be spread in any of the ways that you describe. AIDS is only spread through semen, vaginal fluids, blood, breast milk or bodily fluids that have blood in them.

The virus can be isolated in a few other bodily fluids (tears, urine, etc) but it is extremely extremely rare (perhaps no occurrences at all) for it to be transmitted that way.

So to prevent getting AIDS, "normal people" should not casually handle anyone's semen, vaginal fluids, blood, etc.

None of the activities that you describe involve any of these fluids, so there is no reason to be concerned.

There are a host of other problems with your suggestion, of course. A few of them are that many many people with AIDS are not gay. And of course there are other, less treatable diseases (such as drug resistant tuberculosis) that spread through more casual contact that would need to be addressed first. And even if AIDS were much less treatable, and spread more easily, I'm not sure how you would identify "gay people" since some people who engage in homosexual activity are not self-identifying as gay. And I'm not even going to go into the civil rights issues associated with quarantining people.

For more information on how AIDS is spread, and on current life expectancies and treatments (which I think would surprise you), please check out the web site below.

Good, if provocative, question!

I'll start off with this...being gay is not contagious. Therefore, what purpose would quarantine serve?

So you can pretend they don't exist?

Let me say this: th HIGHEST incidence of HIV transmission is in the HETEROsexual population among the ages of 16-23. Wow. How about that.

If you had any common sense, you would know that HIV is NOT TRANSMISSIBLE by casual contact. DIRECT body fluid contact is needed for infection to occur...if it does indeed occur.

HIV is a disease that knows NO boundries. It doesn't care how you are, what race you are, what sexual orientation you are, how old you are, what sex you are, where you live, what you do for a living, how much money you make...or anything.

So, the answer to your question is this: NO. There is no reason for that, nor would it serve the slightest purpose.

I think you are in need of some serious HIV education. By asking a question such as this, it leads me to believe that you are sadly lacking necessary, vital information that could one day save YOUR life. Please get some...ASAP.

HEY BUDDY, why are you bending over?

You're just like all the other loud mouthed bigots in the world, the first ones to grab their ankles.
