Go to the doctor something besides the asthma is going on.
i have asthma and when i get an asthma problem i dont cough up phlegm i just feel wheezy and take my inhalour however you may have asthma and have a cough because this sounds similar to how i feel when i have a cough the inhalour should work if not go back and tell your doctor
I have asthma and have had it for many years. I can tell you, phlegm is not a symptom of regular asthma. It sounds like the asthma you have is brought on by a cold of some kind, that's why the "prescription for asthma" seems to not work. An expectrant of some kind will loosen up the phlegm and help you cough it up too. Ask the Doc about bronchitis, flu, etc
