Eczema is out of control :(?!

Question: Been back and forth to the doctors about my skin over the past month and all the creams and drugs i've tried are not working!!!!!!
It's really starting to get me down. I can't wear make up or short sleeves, and now it's spreading to my legs.

Does anyone know of any natural remedies that wont hurt sensitive skin? Maybe it's my diet... i drink a healthy amount of water each day...

you poor thing. It's the time of year when it begins to break out : ( luckily I haven't had any yet.

You don't give us much to go on.

What kind of Eczema do you have? Is this an allergic reaction?

If so prevention and avoiding the triggers is best and you should wear rubber gloves when you touch any cleaning products. Possibly it may be a food allergy.

As with all Eczema, good advice is to keep your skin hydrated as often as you can. This can prevent outbreaks. Apply a good amount of a simple aqueous cream daily to all the effected areas. You can get a big tub at the pharmacy really cheaply. Bathe with a little Oilatum in the water. if you have itching bicarbonate of soda in the water can help to soothe it. Stress can also worsen things so try not to let that get the better of you.

Try to wear clothes that let the skin breathe, and don't scratch.

I take starflower oil as a supplement, you could also try evening primrose oil. Both of these are beneficial to your skin. They will not cure you but they can be of benefit to those with dry skin conditions.

For years I have suffered from acute outbreaks of Pompholyx (dyshidrotic eczema) and I find that amazingly...peroxide creams designed to cure acne work very very well on that. I would NOT recommend you use that type of cream on regular eczema at all however so do not use it unless you are 100 percent sure that you have this type of eczema

You should go to see your doctor again, and this time ask for information about the exact type of eczema you have so that you can understand how to manage it better. This is a condition that you have, not a disease. There is no cure as such...only management of the symptoms and prevention of them.

Are you sure it is Eczema? Has it been diagnosed as Eczema?

I put on Olive butter from the body shop. It has Vitamin E which is good for your skin... I cut down on dairy products. I found that if I had full fat milk my skin got worse.

My son has Eczema and he is 5 yrs old and has had it since he was 2 months old. I have researched this to death.

You mentioned diet . . . . it is suggested that you take protein and dairy products out of your diet. That is what research suggests . . . . but I have not done this because my kid LOVES his milk and yogurt and cheese.

His Eczema is waaaay more managable now than it was when he was little. We did all the creams: elidel, prescription hydrocortisone cream/ointment, and all the lotions under the sun!
It has gotten to the point now that I only have to rub him down about once a week or so with vaseline/petroleum stuff. I rub him down with it at bedtime and put his jammies over it and that WORKS WONDERS!! No crying from the stinging!! There is no stinging because it doesn't have any medicines or fragrances in it!! I love it! and his skin just soaks it up and gets so soft!! When I notice his skin is extremely dry and he is itchy, I apply the vaseline at bedtime and he is good to go!!

Good luck hon! I know its not fun.

Not fun. The hard part will be trying to find our what triggers your eczema. Each persons circumstances can be different, so that's why what works for one won't necessarily work for you.

There are a whole range of natural remedies that may help, including natural creams that are better than steroid creams. Unfortunately it can still be a matter of trying many of them to find one that works on you.

A Calendula cream/ ointment is a common one, and there is a beeswax based balm called Pot of Gold Balm, plus many more natural ones.

Don't necessarily go for the cheapest, natural options naturally occur in different potencies, and so something is generally cheap for a reason. If you want a natural option and can afford it, make an appointment with a homeopath, they will go through a consultation with you, looking into your circumstances and then suggest a remedy accordingly.

put flax seed oil in everything you eat or just take it by the spoon full and lots of olive oil too lots of water too.

check out this web site it has a lot of good info!!

Also have you ever tried anything from Arbonne!! I have seen it do some awesome stuff for people with Eczema!!

My dd has SEVERE eczema and allergies, we have tried everything you can think of from changing her diet to Methotrexate. Several weeks ago, she started photolight thearpy and it seems to really be working. Ask your determologist.

I discovered 'Aloe Vera Life Essence' through a friend of mine. It is Aloe Vera gel with honey and you drink a small amount of it after each meal. Not only very quickly cured the Eczema, which has never re-occured but also stopped completely the cold sores I used to be plauged with every few months or so. Great for all skin conditions. I really reccommend it.

I use a natural oil blend for my daughter- they work with allergies and give samples to see what works.
