Do you sleep on that side? On your back? or switch to all positions through out the night?

During the cold weather, we each may wake up with a little bit of sinus problems, such as stuffiness, runny nose, and a scratchy or dry throat. Once you get up and gravity does it's job of getting the drainage to go down, and you drink some fluids, it should go away. If you sleep on one side, it will make everything accumulate to that side's eye, ear, glands, and throat. This doesn't really take longer to subside than if you moved around during sleep, it is just more noticeable.

If the swelling doesn't subside as your day goes by, you may want to see a Dr. It could be allergies or the start of a sinus infection.

Keep in mind that if you have TMJ (jaw pops and crackles a lot) and the swelling occurs, you may have been grinding your teeth while you slept, which will cause swelling as well.

well you know all the words
so you havent lied
your head works
so you tried

a bad cold

Swollen on the outside? Mumps. Running nose could just be an allergy.
