Hi, can anyone tell me if its normal for a kidney stone to grow 3 times its size!

Question: i have had ct scans and ultrasounds and x-rays and been told i had a stone that was 2mm that was four weeks ago after my gall bladder was removed, then 5 days ago i had another ct scan that said it was now 4mm and then today i was told it was 6mm on ct scans, should i be worried and i have had severe pain on and off for four weeks with the past 5 days in severe pain that only hot baths seem to relieve the terrible pain! also told the kidney stones has not budged since four weeks ago and still in same place,

I'd switch doctors. How can you sit there and take the pain?
With all the money that's been spent on tests, you could have gone to the hospital and had it blasted. This is a non-surgical method that includes being immersed in a tank and being hit with sound waves.
Removing it surgically involves a lot more risk. Anyway, my son had several stones and the doctors told him to stay away from carbonated beverages. The last time he listened and hasn't been bothered since.
Either way, it would be a good idea to find out what is precipitating the problem.

no, its not weird for it to "grow" especially if it's lodged in the same place. It will collect more and more matter just sitting there. I've suffered the same thing you are going through, and you are right baout hot baths! i used to have a hot tub and that was THE BEST. the weightlessness of being suspended in water eases pain. good luck!
