HPV doesn't turn into cancer. I can cause abnormal cells to develop causing dysplasia. The dysplasia left untreated can go on to form cancer.

With 95% of the woman, hpv does nothing at all. Less than 5% actually develop dysplasia and abt 2% will get cancer. The thing is, you don't want to get cancer so keep up with your paps and get treatment as recommended by your dr.

It happens if it mutates. The Human papillomavirus can turn into servical cancer eventually.

continuous tissue damage

no?

It all depends if the HPV is cancerous or non-cancerous. Have regular paps done to check if you have the virus that turns into cancer.

The types of HPV that cause cancer do so by inhibiting E7, which is a regulator of the cell cycle. Normally, chemicals in your body regulate the cell cycle and control cell growth (cancer is defined as uncontrolled cell growth), and when the HPV interacts with the mechanisms involved with these chemicals, then the cell cycle is not regulated and cancer develops.

yes it can but there are sooo many diff types of hpv, if you are at high risk all it means is you are at highter risk of possibly having cervical cancer in the future, if you have low risk means you are not at high of getting the cervical cancer but some low risks hpv can make you have genital warts but they can be removed.

Contrary to what anyone posts here, its never been proven that HPV causes cancer. I suppose ill get several thumbs down but that wont change the facts. If you actaully do go serach for this proof, make sure those papers arent underwritten by Merck or GlaxoSmithKline.
