How long does a urinary tract infection (uti) last?!
Question: I've had it now for three days, and feel yukky: tired, sluggish and weak. I am getting the medication from the doctor today and am wondering how much longer it should take. It has really put me under. Has anyone else felt this sick from an UTI?

You should start feeling better in about 24 hours, much better in a couple days. But be sure to finish all the meds!
My sister had one, she felt okay after a few days on the meds. She was in severe pain at first, I know it sucked for her.

take the unti-biotics and with in 2-3 days you will feel better
most antibitoics will work in aboout 24 hours for an 'average' infections-severe may take longer
Once you start on the antibiotics, you should start feeling better in 2 to 3 days. But don't stop taking the medicine until you have finished every last pill. And if for some reason the medication isn't working on you after a few days, call your doctor up and he can switch you to something else. Hope you feel better soon!
i get pretty sick from them..take some azo and drink cranberry juice it will help a lot..
they last about a week or so but after going on antibiotics youll start to feel much better after a day
Are you on an antibiotic?? These can be very very serious -- I'M NOT KIDDING. I'm almost 50 -- I've had a couple of them -- they are usually cause by e-coli............DO NOT LET IT GO. It can affect your kidneys in a BAD BAD WAY...........get ro a doc please......I also work at a hospital.
The medication will make you feel completely better in about 2 days. It's fun because it turns your pee bright orange (at least some of it does).
A couple of years ago I had a UTI and a bad case of food poisoning at the same time....couldn't keep down the pills to make the infection go away, and when I finally did.....well....lets just say that along with orange pee, you also get orange vomit.
It could always get worse!
Yea, I have felt kinda under the weather for a few days after. If you are taking the antibiotics, you should feel less pain and cramping in a day. Are you also taking those purple pills you can get from the drugstore? They make your pee orange but they eliminate the pain (they dont cure it though). Feel better!! Let your Dr know if you dont feel significantly better soon...you may have a kidney infection
24-48 hrs after the meds kick in. They need to go through your system to work.
5-6 hrs after the meds kick in. You will see a big change and cant believe a little pill would make u feel so much better. : ) Good luck, Hope u feel better!!!
