My hands itch, burn, turn blotchy and red. Why is this?!

Question: I've thought and though, but I have done nothing out of the ordinary to cause this.

And to stop those obvious answers in their tracks:

NO I have not touched and plants or been anywhere near and wooded areas or shrubbery!!!!

I have NOT used any products that I do not normally use!!!!

I haven't changed what I wash my clothes with!!!

And the only thing I'm allergic to is bactrim, and I have NOT taken any!!!!

But the rash-like blotched areas are on the back of my hands between my wrists and fingers. No where else.

It burns and itches and even swells a little bit.

Thank you for all of your answers and I ask that you please give serious answers only.

If any of them tell me basically what I already told you that I haven't done, I'm just going to give it a bad rating, so please just help out best you can and I will give good ratings.

Thanks all! :)

This happened to me a lot when I was younger especially during winter months. I found out is was because my hands were extremly dry! So my docter had me use eucerine and cetaphil lotion. She had me buy some thin fabric gloves, then put on a thick layer of the eucrine and put the gloves on all night long over the lotion. This should give them some deep moisturizing. This helped a lot but it kept coming back, then i found this lotion called curel (e with an accent) lotion. I started using it a few years ago and haven't had dry skin on my hands at all. I just use it once a day, in the morning and it keeps my hands soft and moisturized all day! Good luck and I suggest using the glove method until your hands look normal again then, just stary applying lotion daily.

it sounds like you have another allergy that you might not be aware of.

Here are some possible solutions:
1. You have an allergy to something that you're not aware of yet.
2. Your skin is dry and you need to use hand lotion.
3. You accidently touched a salamander.

If It's none of the above, I suggest you go see a doctor immediately! Good luck! =]
