I made out with a guy (kissing only) and now?!

Question: I am scared of STDs like HIV. Should I get a full STD screening or am I over reacting?

If you were just kissing him and his penis slipped into your bottom accidently, then you should be check.

if you are worried trust your instincts and go get checked out... like my mom always said better safe than sorry!

an apple a day will keep the tree frog away

don't worry. you would only need to worry if you like swallowed some of his blood and that is the only way really. it is extremely rare to catch anything serious from these types of things.

All depends if there was blood contact (let's say from wounds or piercings in the mouth or lips). If there was blood contact, you might be at risk for HIV and hepatitis and so on. If there was no blood contact you might still be at risk for herpes. Although I don't think there is much else you might catch simply from kissing unless he performed oral sex just before. So maybe you are overreacting for the HIV, but if it worries you go get it checked. Most youth clinics will offer anonymous testing. Be aware though they will ask three months in between the possible infection and the test. This is to avoid false negative results because it can take this long to show in the blood tests. Ideally you get checked at 6 months too. But don't worry too much if there was no blood contact.

if you only kissed him, then you can't get a "sexually transmitted disease"

Yes. Sounds to me like you have AIDS :)

AIDS is transmitted through blood and semen for men. And its pretty likely to get AIDS from a girl too, not just a guy buddy.

if you're gonna worry, do it evenly hahaha

It never hurts to get a screening, but kissing is no risk at all. I like to suggest guys get tested every 3-6 months, unless you are in a relationship with 1 guy and you both have tested.
