What is incidental microadenona of the pituitary gland?!

Question: Microadenoma is a tumor of the pituitary gland which is located in the brain. Incidental means that it was found "by accident" meaning the doctor wasn't looking specifically for that, it just happened to be found.

Pituitary adenomas are benign however they may produce excess hormones or impinge on the optic nerve causing vision problems. Microadenoma means it is a small tumor (micro= small).

my husband has one. found accidentally after his stroke. his is not secreting any hormones, and not growing so it is ignored except for occasional check ups. if it is secreting hormones there are several methods of treatments, including surgery through the nose and the gamma ray- an external beam radiation treatment. we named ours Tommy. Tommy the tumor. sometimes you just have to try to laugh. good luck.

wat the heck are you talkin bout oh it means that you pee alot
