Are digital bp thing not accurate?!

The ones you buy for home usage are the same way. The Dynamap (the one they use in the hospitals) are usually pretty accurate because they undergo routine matainence. It is essential when taking a BP with anything, be it manual or digital, that the cuff is the proper size and placed in the proper position. If either one of these things in inaccurate, you can get either a false high or a false low reading.

Somehow it is accurate.... but it would be more accurate if the real sphygmomanometer will be used to check for BP.

depends on how much accuracy you are looking for...basically home testing you are looking for general /average readings...remember sit for 5-10 minutes before taking BP...it can vary during the day...looking for majority of values below 125/80
My cardiology nurse said the home digital bp things are not as accurate as the older type.
She advised me to get one of the standard arm band types to use here at the ranch. The insurance co doesn't agree, so I will lay out the cash for the thing.
