Smoothie, chocolate milk?!

Question: I have the stomach flu, it's the second day of it's full effect,
and i only have a headache, and some slight aches everywhere, but i havent vomitted in over 24 hours,
and i havent had diherrah since this morning.
I've been sipping gatorade all morning and a bit last night,
I want something more though,
would making a smoothie, or having some chocolate milk, be too soon? and if so, when should i try to drink it?

There's no stomach flu. Flu is a respiratory virus. You most likely have bacterial or viral gastroenteritis.

When you have not had any episodes of diarrhea for 24 hours, reintroduce soft, bland foods into your diet. If you remain stable for another 24-48 hours, introduce regular foods as tolerated. Forego the smoothies and chocolate milk until then to avoid any gastric or intestinal irritation. Fruit juice and milk may contribute to diarrhea at this time.

Chocolate is not a known cause of diarrhea and some evidence has been found that dark chocolate may even help relieve it.

no choc causes diareha to be worse

chicken broth it is

Avoid dairy products until you have been vomit/diarrhea free for at least 24 hours.

Stay on clear liquids such as broth, gatorade (diluted 50/50 with water), and maybe jello.

It would probably be a shock to your system to introduce dairy products and may start up your vomiting or diarrhea again.

Hope you feel better.

Chocolate is acidic and can give you diarrhea. Stay away from it until your better.
