What do they do at the hospital if you can't urinate after surgery?!

Question: I know they won't ( or aren't SUPPOSED to) release you until you can.

Answers: I know they won't ( or aren't SUPPOSED to) release you until you can.

You'll be straight-cathed to assess residual and until you can void on your own, you'll be kept there. It's also possible that with continued or severe problems you may have an indwelling catheter (Foley) placed which can be removed later by your own doctor.

After my surgery I COULDN'T wait to get to the washroom, lol.

The amount of time I stood in front of the toilet made the people in my room stare, lol.

Catheder and I assume many if to much times passes, many painful test

They can't release you unless you can urinate. I find that comforting. I wouldn't want to go home if I couldn't function normally. I would think my bladder would fill up with urine with no way to expel it.

They will fit you with a catheter (a special, small tube) to allow your body to void its bladder until you are mobile enough to use the restroom.

It may be a tad uncomfortable, but it shouldn't hurt.

They will pass a catheter and release the urine....
I think you are getting panicky over something that might not happen.. Most people don't pass urine for a few hours because don't forget you have been nil by mouth before the op; so you will be dehydrated,,,
