Question: 17 year old son has had stomach virus for 5 days,on meds for diharrea,now is passing blood.

It's better to be safe than sorry, you don't know how much blood he's lost; he may need IV fluids.

That or you could just look again maybe its ketchup lol no seriously that would be my first thought. Most people who pass blood need medical treatment.

Hey Joe....most definitely take him to the ER. He may be extremely dehydrated. Give him some orange-flavored Pedialite to keep him hydrated. It's not just for infants/toddlers. It can keeps adults hydrated.
