Prednisone and migraines?!
Question: I'm only 14 years old.
I had my first surgery last year, because of an imflammation.
(i have crohn's disease)
Not something i want to go through again,It was a tough time for me,and i was scared of course.
I stopped taking prednisone, not too long ago.
By doctor, lowered the dose then i completely stopped.
but now i have these constant migraines!
and they're killing me(not literally) but they're painful and i cant handle it anymore.
Is this normal?
i need to know,,please help

Hi there.
I have ulcerative colitis and had to have all my colon removed, so I'm with you on surgeries.
I took prednisone frequently, almost every year I have to take it for one thing or another (I have some others associated diseases) and I never had migraines after I stoped it. Even once in hospital when they stoped it cold (after one of thesurgeires) I had abstinence problems but no migraines.
Talk to your doctor again. It might be related with you stopping (if you're taking it for too long) but I never heard of it.
As you have Crohn's can it be for lack of some vitamins or minerals? I know that sometimes I have lots of cramps due to lack of potassiun or magnesium or K vitamin as I don't absorb them propely even with supplements.
Hope everything goes well for you. Inflamatory disease is harsh. Best of luck!!!
hey Zoey, my sister was on it for 5 years be for she finally got off of them and i don't remember her saying it caused her to have head aches, but i will ask her and get back with you ! have you been to a doctor ?
